Celebrating 81 Years of Indonesian Independence
Each year on 17 August, communities throughout Indonesia mark Independence Day with flag ceremonies, decorations, games and celebrations. At PT Cendana Indopearls' operational locations, the day is also an opportunity to recognise the people and communities who are an important part of our company.
Our operations extend across some of Indonesia's most diverse regions, from Raja Ampat in the east to communities across Nusa Tenggara, Bali and Java. Each location has its own character, shaped by its people, languages, traditions and connection to the surrounding environment.
This diversity is reflected in our workforce. Our teams bring different backgrounds, experiences and skills to their work. Many have built long careers with the company, passing knowledge and experience to younger employees, while others are beginning their careers and developing new skills through training opportunities within the business.
Our connection to Indonesia extends beyond our workplaces. Pearl farming is closely connected to the coastal environments and communities where we operate, and relationships with local communities have developed alongside our operations over many years. Through employment, education, community health, environmental stewardship and local partnerships, we continue to work with communities to support priorities that are important to them.
On 17 August, these communities and our teams will mark Independence Day in different ways. Across our locations, red and white decorations, flag ceremonies, traditional games and community activities bring employees, families and neighbours together.
As we mark Indonesia's Independence Day, we recognise the contribution of our Indonesian employees and thank them for the knowledge, skills and commitment they bring to PT Cendana Indopearls every day.
